Aero Methow Rescue Service

Aero Methow Rescue Service is seeking an Executive Director.

Aero Methow Services is a community-based ALS ground ambulance service in the Methow Valley located in the North Central Washington State on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains.  

The Service area is comprised of approximately 6400 full time and 4,380 part time residents in and around the towns of Carlton, Twisp, Winthrop and Mazama.  It is approximately 2,000 square miles and stretches north to within 50 miles of the Canadian border and west into the North Cascades National Park, see our response area on our website at www.aeromethow.org

The Methow Valley is noted for its remoteness, beauty and easy access for four season outdoor recreational activities. 

There are two clinics in the Methow Valley (one in Winthrop and one in Twisp). Neither clinic provides 24-hour care. The nearest Critical Access Hospitals are in Omak (35 miles from Twisp) and in Brewster (45 miles from Twisp).

Aero Methow Rescue prides itself in providing high quality out of hospital care. The patient always comes first. Each patient has unique and individual needs, wishes and goals. While we care for those with urgent or life-threatening emergencies, we also spend the time with those with complicated health issues which may not result in transport to the hospital. We embrace and practice providing the right care, to the right patient, at the right cost with the right mode of transportation. We have been providing Community Paramedicine since our inception in 1968.

Aero Methow Rescue Service is staffed with twelve employees and twenty-nine volunteers. We currently have 5 Paramedics and 2 paramedic students who will be certified in mid-2025, Fourteen (14) Advanced EMTs, and Nineteen (19) EMTs and an administration staff of 2.

Our call volume is approximately Eight Hundred (800) responses/year.

We work closely with our health care partners, emergency management, and the local, regional and state EMS councils and committees.

Experience as an EMT or above is required.  A qualified candidate should also have strong executive leadership skills, which include good interpersonal and verbal communication.  You must have a demonstrated knowledge of fundraising; experience with drawing up and managing budgets, assessing productivity and efficiency, and handling the coordination of many employees, including volunteers who provide a significant number of services.  The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of, or actual experience with, Incident Command System.  We are impacted by wildland fires and frequently work closely with Incident Management Teams and provide ambulance service standby for wildland fires in our service area.

Pay: Depends on Experience

Buildings:

Primary administration and operations in located in Twisp with a 3 bay garage housing 3 Braun Type 1 Dodge 4-wheel Drive ambulances, a UTV located in the rescue bay and 2 electric mountain bikes.

Winthrop: 1 Braun Type 1 Dodge 4-wheel Drive ambulance and Aid Vehicle and snowmobile with patient transport capability.

Mazama: 1 Braun Type 1 Dodge 4-wheel Drive ambulance and snowmobile

Aero Methow Rescue Service receives funding from a contract with the Methow Valley EMS District, fees for service, donations, and grants.
